Dakoro Edwards now resides in Atlanta but he was raised in the tough streets of Syracuse, New York. As a young man he was a standout talent in both basketball and art and eventually chose art to be the pathway to a better life for himself. 

2016 Winner of TFA and Vanderbilt University Art & Social Justice Award, Dakoro’s work is a ferocious call to action, his use of color in lines speak loudly and demand attention to his powerful skill, his compelling message and his deep love for his subject matter.
